Privacy Policy

Short version: this site uses Google Analytics 4 to count page visits. There's no advertising, no profiling, and nothing is sold or shared. Here's the detail, and how to opt out.

Analytics

Every page loads Google Analytics 4 (GA4), which records, in aggregate: which pages you view and in what order, roughly where you are (country / city, derived from your IP address — the address itself isn't stored by GA4), your device, browser and operating system, screen size, and the site or search that referred you. It's used to understand which writing and work gets read, nothing more. There's no advertising, no remarketing, no Google Signals.

Cookies it sets

GA4 sets two first-party cookies in your browser — _ga and _ga_<id> — which give you a random ID so repeat visits aren't double-counted. They last up to two years unless you remove them. These are the only cookies this site sets.

Where the data goes

GA4 data is processed by Google (Google Ireland Ltd and Google LLC) and may be handled on servers in the United States. Google acts as the data processor; the reports are only visible to me.

Opting out

To stop GA4 collecting anything on your visits, install Google's Analytics opt-out add-on, use a browser or extension that blocks it, or clear this site's cookies and site data after each visit.

Web font

Every page loads a web font from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com / fonts.gstatic.com). Your browser contacts those servers directly to fetch the file, and Google may log standard access data such as your IP address and browser type as part of serving it. That happens regardless of the analytics choice above, it's how any font CDN works, and no cookie is set by it. I don't receive that data.

Contact form and newsletter

The contact panel and the newsletter field submit to this site's own server, which emails me your message and (for the newsletter) stores your address so I can let you know when I open up availability. Nothing is shared with a third-party marketing platform, and your details are used only to reply to you or send that occasional note. Ask me any time to remove your address and I will.
