Uncouth

Virtual dermatology / telehealth product (UK)

Uncouth lets people get a dermatology consultation without visiting a clinic in person — a patient describes their concern and shares photos, and a clinician reviews the case and responds remotely. A product like this only works if people trust it enough to share something personal with it in the first place.

The experience covers everything from initial intake to the secure exchange of photos and messages between patient and clinician, along with the record-keeping a telehealth service is expected to maintain. None of that matters if the experience itself feels clinical or cold, so a meaningful part of the product's design was making a sensitive, sometimes uncomfortable conversation feel approachable rather than transactional.

I worked across both the web and mobile app, with particular attention to how sensitive health information and images are stored and transmitted throughout — the kind of project where moving carefully matters more than moving fast.
