500m

Casino-free school zones, drawn on a map — 500m.vish.mk

North Macedonian law forbids casinos and betting shops within 500 metres of a school, but there was no simple way to see, for a given address, whether it falls inside a protected zone. 500m turns that rule into a map anyone can read.

It plots every school in the country and draws the 500-metre exclusion buffer around each one, so the restricted areas render as one continuous overlay instead of a list of coordinates. Zoom into a neighbourhood and you can tell at a glance whether a spot is clear or off-limits.

I built the whole thing — assembling the school location data, generating the buffer geometry, and a map front-end that keeps panning and zooming smooth with the full national dataset on screen.
